The list contains some of my absolute favourite debut novels. There are some award-winners and big hitters that I had to include, but I’ve also tried to highlight some lesser-known debuts that I’ve absolutely adored.
I’ve also tried to include books from a few different genres including mythology, crime and historical fiction. Hopefully there’s something for everyone on this list!
Small Hours is the second novel by bestselling author Bobby Palmer.
The story follows a family brought together after years of distance and strained relationships. Observing it all is a mysterious fox, who roams around the family’s home, witnessing their pain and their attempts to reconnect before it’s too late.
Isaac and the Egg is the debut novel by Bobby Palmer, published in 2022. It already seems to be hugely successful. I don’t think I’ve come across anyone with a bad word to say about Isaac and the Egg!
The premise was intriguing, and I was delighted to be offered the audiobook via Netgalley.
