David Nicholls is the bestselling author of titles such as One Day and Us.
While it’s not necessary to read all David Nicholls books in order, I’ve arranged this list in publication order so you never have to miss a book by this popular author.
David Nicholls is a bestselling author known for writing warm and funny novels about love and life. Whether it’s the trials of romance or the ups and downs of friendship, David Nicholls’ books always leave a last impression on me, making me both laugh and cry.
David Nicholls is also the Executive Producer for the Netflix adaptation of One Day. If you haven’t already seen it, please do! It’s such a great adaptation that really stays loyal to the book.
What was David Nicholls first book?
David Nicholls’s debut novel was Starter for Ten, published in 2003.
Are Starter for Ten and A Question of Attraction the same book?
Yes! A Starter for Ten was released under the title A Question of Attraction in the United States. The book is a about a character, Brian, trying to to get on a popular UK TV quiz show University Challenge. The title refers to a opening question on the quiz show known as the teams’ “starter for ten”. It was thought that this reference might be lost on a lot of American readers who wouldn’t be familiar with the show. It was therefore released as A Question of Attraction when it was published in the United States.
What are the Best David Nicholls Books
Obviously determining the best books by David Nicholls is subjective but if you’re new to his stories, I’d definitely suggest starting with One Day and Us. One Day is my particular favourite as it’s such an unforgettable story. Meanwhile, Us was longlisted for the Booker Prize for Fiction.
