Regency romances seem to have a surge in popularity recently, most likely due to the success of the Bridgerton series that has been adapted for Netflix. I was thrilled to be offered an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.
Godmersham Park is the latest novel by Gill Hornby, author of Miss Austen. As a Jane Austen fangirl, I couldn’t wait to read this. I was aware of the great friendship between Jane Austen and Anne Sharp and I couldn’t wait to read a book from Anne’s perspective.
Triflers Need Not Apply is a novel by Camilla Bruce, published in 2021.
I was intrigued by this book as it was a bit of a change of pace from what I’m used to reading. I don’t usually read true crime or anything overly gruesome but the cover and blurb caught my attention. Plus as it’s set in the 19th century, its a historical fiction novel, a genre that I really enjoy.
