I love reading about Ancient Greece from different perspectives, especially the women’s. I therefore knew I needed to read The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker.

Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead was released in 2021 and was HUGELY successful.

It was shortlisted for both the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Booker Prize. It was a New York Times bestseller and a Time Magazine book of the year.

The Paper Palace is the debut novel by Miranda Cowley Heller, published in 2021.

The book was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2022 and although it lost out to Ruth Ozeki’s The Book of Form and Emptiness, it still received a lot of praise.

The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak was released in 2021 and was shortlisted for The Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022. It was also shortlisted for the Costa Award and RSL Ondaatje Prize.

I recently read 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World by Elif Shafak and I loved it. I therefore couldn’t wait to read The Island of Missing Trees.

Queenie was the debut novel by Candice Carty-Williams and it’s safe to say, it was a HUGE success.

Released in 2019, Queenie was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and went on to win Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. It was also named one of The Times, Guardian, Sunday Times, Daily Mail and Evening Standard’s best books of 2019.

Careless was also longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022.

The Song of Achilles was the debut novel by Madeline Miller, published in 2011. The book is a retelling of the Greek myth of Achilles and Patroclus, focusing on their deep bond and love against the backdrop of the Trojan War.
