Top Five Taylor Jenkins Reid Books You Need to Read

If you like your romance and general fiction with relatable characters and storylines to tug on your heartstrings, you need to read Taylor Jenkins Reid.

I am such a Taylor Jenkins Reid fangirl. I’ve read every one of her books and I have loved them all. I fell in love with her writing style while reading Malibu Rising and since then have worked my way through her entire back catalogue.

Honestly, in my opinion, there is no such thing as a bad Taylor Jenkins Reid book. I have loved every single one of them. I’ve just loved some of them more than others!

If you’re completely new to Taylor Jenkins Reid books, you could try with the ones I’ve listed highest to see if her writing style is for you.

1: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo had absolute everything. Love, drama betrayal and Hollywood glamour. All Taylor Jenkins Reid books move me but this one had me shedding real tears. I loved Evelyn and how chaotic she was a character. She was flawed and frustrating and I adored her.

It’s hard to pick my favourite of all Taylor Jenkins Reid books, but Evelyn Hugo will always have a special place in my heart.

2: Daisy Jones and the Six

I was obsessed with Daisy Jones and The Six. I loved the format of the book and how it was written as transcribed interviews. There’s quite a large cast of characters and the characterisation was absolutely brilliant. Each had their own unique voice which is incredible considering the format.

Like Evelyn Hugo, Daisy Jones was flawed and could be frustrating at times but I also found myself empathising with her.

An absolute must read.

3: Carrie Soto is Back

Out of all of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s celebrity characters, I think Carrie Soto is probably my favourite. I admired her tenacity and determination to succeed. She was such an unapologetic character and I loved that.

Carrie Soto is Back was a bit of a surprise for me because I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. I loved the characters and I was unexpectedly moved several times throughout the book.

4: One True Loves

Of all Taylor Jenkins Reid’s earlier works, One True Loves was my favourite. I loved the premise and it was such a compelling read. I like a book that can make me feel emotionally connected to the characters, and that was definitely the case with this one.

Malibu Rising was the first Taylor Jenkins Reid book I read. I instantly fell in love with her writing. I was expecting a light-hearted beach read but the story had so much depth to it. It’s an exploration of family and love and I was hooked from start to finish.
