Lucinda Riley was a Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author known for her books such as the Seven Sisters series and The Butterfly Room. Lucinda Riley books fall into different genres including historical fiction, contemporary fiction, and romance.
Earlier in her career Lucinda Riley published a few books under the name Lucinda Edmonds. After getting married she decided to publish her books in her new name as she didn’t want to be categorised by what she had written fifteen years before. Some of the books originally released under the name Lucinda Edmonds were later updated, rewritten and published under the name Lucinda Riley.
Lucinda Riley sadly passed away in June 2021, and the final book in the Seven Sisters series was co-written with her son Harry Whittaker.

Lucinda Riley’s debut novel was Lovers and Players, published in 1992 under the pseudonym Lucinda Edmonds. The first novel under the name Lucinda Riley was Hothouse Flower, published in 2010 (also known as The Orchid House in the US.)

What are the Seven Sisters books about?
The Seven Sisters series consists of eight contemporary fiction novels authored by Lucinda Riley. Each novel is centred around one of six adopted daughters, known as the Seven Sisters, who were raised by a wealthy and mysterious benefactor named Pa Salt.
Pa Salt adopts the sisters from different parts of the world and names them after the Pleiades star cluster. Each book combines historical and contemporary elements, blending family sagas with elements of romance and mystery.
