The Wolf Den was the first novel I’d read about Pompeii and I absolutely loved it. It’s such a great series. I’d definitely recommend reading the the Wolf Den trilogy in order as each book builds on the events of the previous ones, and there is an overarching storyline.

Is the Wolf Den Trilogy worth reading?
Absolutely! I personally the found the first book to be a really gripping historical story. I enjoyed the second book, The House With the Golden Door, but not as much as The Wolf Den. However the third and final novel in the series, The Temple of Fortuna is another fantastic read and a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy.
As with the novels about Ancient Greece I loved, such as The Song of Achilles and Circe, The Wolf Den Trilogy focuses on the journey of the women in the story. I found myself rooting for Amara throughout the series and loved her bravery and tenacity.
