Fredrik Backman’s first novel was A Man Called Ove published in 2012. It was originally published under its Swedish title, En Man Som Heter Ove.

What are Fredrik Backman’s best books?
It’s obviously subjective and everyone will have their own favourites, but personally I love the Beartown series the most. I loved the characters and the exploration of human emotion. Benji Ovich is a character that will stay with me for a long time.
If you’re looking for a standalone novel, I’d recommend A Man Called Ove. It’s such a brilliant, heart-warming book and has now been made into a film starring Tom Hanks, titled A Man Called Otto.
