Colleen Hoover fans will be excited to learn that details are starting to be released about the upcoming It Ends With Us movie.
The It Ends With Us movie is based on the bestselling book series by Colleen Hoover.
Colleen Hoover books are always massive hits. The It Ends With Us book sold over a million copies in 2019 alone and it’s sequel, It Starts With Us, has also been hugely successful.
As I wrote in my It Ends With Us book review, I personally enjoyed how Colleen Hoover doesn’t shy away from complicated subjects.
Due to the success of the It Ends With Us book series, I do think that the movie is set to be a massive hit.
The movie is very much in the early stages, with cast announcements only just being released. However I’ve tried to gather as much information as I could regarding the upcoming film.
Here’s what we know so far about the It Ends With Us Movie.
It Ends With Us Movie: Plot
I think it’s fair to expect the It Ends With Us movie to follow the original book storyline closely.
Within It Ends With Us book, we follow Lily Bloom’s journey as she navigates a tumultuous relationship while also trying to heal from her past.
At the start of the novel, readers are introduced to Ryle Kincaid, Lily’s charismatic and ambitious boyfriend. Although their relationship starts off as passionate and romantic, it quickly changes.
As Lily struggles to make sense of her relationship with Ryle, she must also confront her past. When she bumps into her first love, she realises she must also confront the past while also moving forward with her life.
It Ends With Us Movie Cast
The series author, Colleen Hoover, recently announced that Blake Lively has been cast as protagonist Lily Bloom in the It Ends With Us movie. Colleen Hoover expressed her delight at the casting and described Blake as being her ‘dream Lily’.
I love Blake Lively. Who doesn’t?! But I’m not 100% convinced on this casting. Lily is supposed to be a 23 year old red head, while Blake is a 35 year old stunning blonde. However I’m prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
Meanwhile, Justin Baldoni (from Jane the Virgin) has been cast as Lily’s partner Ryle Kincaid. Justin is also set to the direct the film.
In the last few weeks we’ve also found out who will be playing Atlas and his sister Allysa. Brandon Sklenar has been cast as Lily’s first love Atlas, while Jenny Slate has joined the cast as Allysa.
It Ends With Us Movie Age Rating
While it’s still such early days, no age rating has been released. I think we can expect, considering the subject matter, that the movie will be at least a 12 rating.
It Ends With Us Movie Release Date
Since casting has only just been announced, there’s no predicted release date as yet. However, since production is likely to start soon, we could expect the movie to come out sometime within the next two years, perhaps as early at late 2024.
It Ends With Us Movie Summary
That’s everything we know about the It Ends With Us movie at the time of writing. I will of course keep the post updated as and when more details are released.
