What is the A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series?

The A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas is a fantasy romance following Feyre Archeron, a young huntress who enters the dangerous and alluring realm of the Fae after killing a faerie creature. Feyre becomes entangled in a web of bargains, curses, and a blossoming love story with a powerful High Fae Lord as she navigates this strange world, confronts her inner demons, and discovers her true potential.

A Court of Thorns and Roses is soon to be a major tv series. ACOTAR contains mature content and so is not suitable for younger readers.

What is the Crescent City Series?

The Crescent City series is the most recent of all the Sarah J. Maas series.

Crescent City is an adult fantasy saga set in a vibrant, modern metropolis called Crescent City, also known as Lunathion. The story centres around Bryce Quinlan, a half-fae, half-human party girl whose world crumbles after her best friend’s brutal murder. Two years later, Bryce is haunted by the tragedy when a new murder ignites a dark secret. She’s forced to work with Hunt Athalar, a mysterious Fallen angel enslaved by the Archangels, to solve the crimes and uncover the evil threatening Crescent City.

The series is known for its blend of urban fantasy, action, mystery, and a simmering romance between Bryce and Hunt. It was the winner of the Goodreads Choice best fantasy 2020 and was described by The Telegraph as “Game of Thrones meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer.”
