I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of novels by Claire Douglas so I was so excited to receive a copy of The Wrong Sister via Netgalley.

Plot

Tasha and her older sister Alice may look alike, but their lives couldn’t be more different. Tasha is settled with a family in her hometown, while Alice is a globe-trotting scientist. When Tasha and her husband Aaron leave their children in Alice’s care, they believe they’re in safe hands.

However, tragedy strikes when Alice and her husband are attacked, leaving Alice in critical condition and her husband dead. As Tasha rushes to her sister’s side, she’s thrust into a whirlwind of police investigations and unsettling revelations, including a chilling note that suggests the attack was meant for her.

The Wrong Sister Book Review

Another gripping psychological thriller by Claire Douglas! The Wrong Sister is a true page-turner that had me hooked from the very beginning.

The story was well paced and I found myself completely engrossed trying to piece together the puzzle of what happened. Around the 80% mark, I was convinced I had unravelled the mystery, only to discover that I had been led astray by cleverly placed red herrings! It’s a testament to Claire Douglas’s skill as a storyteller that she can keep readers guessing until the very end.

There’s quite a few characters involved in the story but it never becomes confusing. I did find myself scrutinising each character and suspecting everyone at one point or another. This added to the tension and keep me fully invested in the drama.

I did find some of the plot twists were slightly implausible but I don’t mind that so much when I’m reading a thriller. These twists and turns are essential for making a story memorable and unique, and when some characters behaved questionably, it only heightened my suspicions of everyone.

In conclusion, The Wrong Sister is an engrossing read that delivers plenty of twists, turns and suspense. If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you guessing until the very end, then this is definitely a book worth adding to your reading list.
