Who is Claire Douglas?

Claire Douglas is the Sunday Times bestselling author of multiple stand-alone thrillers. Claire Douglas books have sold over 500,000 copies in the UK and have been translated into twenty languages.

Her debut novel, The Sisters, was published in 2015 and won the Marie Claire Debut Novel award. Her seventh novel, The Couple at No 9 was a Sunday Times bestseller as well as their Crime Book of the Month.

I’ll admit, the first book I read written by Claire Douglas, I didn’t particularly enjoy. I read Local Girl Missing which was her second novel, and unfortunately found it predictable and implausible. However, since then I’ve enjoyed every Claire Douglas book I’ve read. I feel her writing style and plotlines have definitely improved with time.

How many Claire Douglas books are there?

Claire Douglas has written ten novels, from her debut novel The Sisters up to her 2024 release, The Wrong Sister.

What are Claire Douglas’ best books?

Everyone will have their own opinion on which of Claire Douglas’ books is best, but I would particularly recommend The Couple at No 9 and The Girls Who Disappeared.

When pregnant Saffron Cutler moves into 9 Skelton Place with boyfriend Tom, they are shocked to discover human remains buried on the property. As the police launch a murder inquiry and focus on speaking with the cottage’s former owner, Saffy’s grandmother Rose, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, struggles to remember crucial details.

With fragmented memories resurfacing and a sense of being watched, Saffy fears for her safety and seeks to uncover the truth about the victims and her grandmother’s involvement.

In a rural Wilshire town lies the Devil’s Corridor, a haunted road with a history of eerie occurrences. One of the most puzzling cases is that of Olivia Rutherford, who disappeared along with her friends after a car crash.

Twenty years later, journalist Jenna Halliday arrives to cover the case, but faces resistance from the locals, including Olivia herself. As Jenna delves deeper, she receives menacing threats and realises she must uncover the truth before she becomes another dark mystery of the Devil’s Corridor.
